The end of September is our last school holiday before we head home. We decided to check out Bali in Indonesia for a week since everyone from Western Australia goes there for their holiday. We left right after school on Friday and arrived late in the night. This was the first thing we saw when we opened our door the next morning - welcome to paradise. This is the Dewa House Bisma in Ubud.

The first day we just decided to walk around and explore Ubud - it was so amazing and busy and overwhelming. We loved it. The one thing we noticed quickly is that there are lots of temples in Ubud. We learned that some people think that there are more temples in Bali then houses. Religion plays a very important role in Bali. The Balinese have a unique version of Hinduism. It is a vibrant religion and is expressed often not only by lavish temple festivals but by countless simple rituals everyday. We had the opportunity to see both a large festival and parade as well as offerings every day by the staff at our home stay. The temples throughout Ubud were beautiful and I took a lot of pictures - below are just a few.
